Step 1 - Open Installed Apps
- Press Windows Key.
- Search for Apps & Features.
- Open Add or remove programs.
Step 2 - Check For Third-Party Antivirus
Look through your installed applications and check for any antivirus software such as:- Avast Antivirus
- AVG Antivirus
- Kaspersky
- Malwarebytes
- Bitdefender
- Norton
- McAfee
- ESET
- Sophos
Step 3 - Fully Uninstall Antivirus Software
- Click the antivirus application.
- Select Uninstall.
- Follow all prompts to complete removal.
- Repeat for any other antivirus software installed.
Important: Simply disabling antivirus is not enough — it must be fully uninstalled.
Step 4 - Restart Your Computer
- Close all applications.
- Restart your PC.
Step 5 - Verify Removal
After restarting:- Re-open Apps & Features.
- Confirm no third-party antivirus software remains installed.
- Check system tray/background processes if needed.
